We are absolutely thrilled to announce that mezzo soprano Teresa Karcher will be joining us next month to perform “El Amor Brujo”! 🎶🎉

Teresa is a Midlands based German-American-Spanish mezzo soprano and trained as a singer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Much praised for her ‘beguiling, golden tone’, Teresa has a special affinity with Spanish repertoire both old and new which she has often performed in Spain, most notably at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla of Granada. In January 2018 she was invited to record songs by García Lorca and Ovalle at Abbey Road Studios.

Teresa recently made her debut with the English Symphony Orchestra as the alto soloist in Bach’s Magnificat and Handel’s Messiah. Teresa is as comfortable singing opera as she is oratorio and some roles have included, Musetta (La Bohème, Puccini), Iphygénie (Iphygénie en Tauride, Gluck), Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos, Strauss), Le Prince Charmant (Cendrillon, Massenet), Leonore (Fidelio, Beethoven) and Fiordiligi (Cosi Fan Tutte, Mozart) among others. Other oratorio roles include the alto solos in Bach: Christmas Oratorio, Magnificat and St. Matthew Passion and Pergolessi: Stabbat Mater.

Teresa is very much looking forward to reprising her role as Candelas in De Falla’s El Amor Brujo with the Huntingdonshire Philharmonic, a role she debuted in De Falla’s hometown of Granada with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granda in 2013.

This music is very close to Teresa’s heart and we are sure that if you join us it will be close to yours, too!
