We are thrilled to announce a special performance of a lesser-known work named To The Hills, by Christopher Brown. Chris’ compositions have been described as ‘radiating an ingenious spirit of joy’ and have won many awards. Chris spent nearly 40 years teaching composition at the Royal Academy of Music and in his time has written for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. ‘To The Hills’ was composed especially for the Hunts Phil and we are delighted to perform for the composer himself; Chris will be attending the performance in celebration of his 80th birthday.

Chris Brown is a highly respected individual at Hunts Phil and created the delightful arrangements of carols that pack our stands at our much loved Christmas Concerts. He was the very first Music Director of The Huntingdonshire Philharmonic and is responsible for its existence as we know it today. We have some wonderful memories of our time under the stewardship of Chris – most talked about are the infamous after-parties following our concerts! 😮

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music, as we also explore the beauty and power of Carmina Burana, bringing you a colossal choir formed of The Hunts Phil Chorus and St Ives Choral Society for one night only! Book online to avoid disappointment.
